you know who you are

I just ate a Frosty Float at Wendy’s with Ricci. It was very, very delicious. Today I’ve done almost nothing by most standards. I have been hard at work rearranging furniture in Hosh and I’s apartment, and am happy with the new changes. I have also been re-acquainting myself with Gasoline Heart, who’s album “You Know Who You Are” is an absolute must-have in my opinion. But really, I’ve spent the day feeling like myself. Does anyone ever go through periods when you suddenly stop and realize that you haven’t felt like yourself in a long time? Like you haven’t really said or done or listened to or watched or played anything that YOU would normally? I recently went through such a realization, but am happily becoming re-familiarized with myself and getting back to the things I truly love like leading worship, Coldplay, Diablo 2, and my girlfriend, in no particular order. It is good to be back where we belong.

I just received a voicemail from a 850 area code letting me know that my sand wedge has been re-shafted. This is going to be a fantastic day.

This has been a very, very good couple of days. I apologize profusely for the obscene scarcity of my posts of late, I have no excuse really. I’ve been busy, but I don’t know how much I’ve actually done. Irregardless.

Ricci and I went up to Ft. Collins on Tuesday. I owed her a day-long date up in the big town and finally made good on the promise. We ate amazing soup at Spoons before perusing the grounds at CSU. College campuses like that still fascinate me. Ricci showed me through the old basement library where I flirted shamelessly through the shelves and caused entirely too much ruckus, despite her muffled giggling and constant “shush”-ing. If you were to wonder what I would’ve been like at University, there you have it. After that we went and had dinner with her parents and watched an old “Lamb Chops” video which is as entertaining today as it was when we were kids. We then headed to my apartment to start up the Lord of the Rings. We got through The Fellowship of the Ring on Tuesday night, still one of my absolute favorite movies and my favorite of the trilogy.

Wednesday was a fun day of out-and-aboutedness. Tim B. and I ate sandwiches and cup-o-noodles, and then picked up the laptop his gracious family donated to me while mine attempts to stave off a few nasty viruses (387, to be precise.) Then Ricci and I had to stop by the old CCA campus to set up her school payments and I decided that I will finish up some more school come January. Then we headed down to _tag at NewLife with the band from my youth group. It was a ton of fun to see the way such a huge and alive youth ministry does things, and to top it all off Jared Anderson played in The Tent afterward with his trio, a rare rare spectacle these days due to his Integrity obligations. All in all, it has been a marvelous week so far.
